Dlectricity Shadow Puppet Shows

I'll be performing two different shadow plays as part of Dlectricity this Friday, October 5 and Saturday,
October 6.  The performances will be in the Prentis Court of the Detroit Institute of the Arts.  Admission to the shows is free.  Enter via John R, next to the Detroit Film Theater.

Friday, October 5 at 8pm and Saturday, 6 at 10pm I will be performing 'Mama Three Eyes' a  shadow play about the Hindu Goddess Kali.   Viewers will witness Kali's creation of the universe, a battle with demons and the dawn of time, and her intervention in a modern day space invasion.

'Yaga Baba' will be performed Saturday, October 6 at 8pm.  Based on a Russian fairy tale, a little girl is left alone to baby-sit her little brother.  She must travel to the middle of the woods and rescue him when he is kidnapped by Yaga the witch and her pet crows.

The puppets will be performed live to a pre-recorded soundtrack featuring original music by Dan Tower and narration by Sonja B.C.
